How to keep baby’s hands warm at night
I live in a cold place. The temperature in my house drops to 60 at night. What is the best way to keep your baby’s hands warm?
I’ve tried mittens, but he puts them in his mouth, which makes them wet and even colder.
We used to wrap it, but we are trying to turn it into a sleeping bag. The sleeping bag is very warm, but the hands are out of the sleeping bag.

The best way to keep a baby’s hands warm is to make sure their core is warm. That goes day or night.
You are on the right track with the sleeping bag. I would suggest a wool sleeping bag. I have used one for all of my children and they are the best for keeping young babies warm before they are big enough to safely enjoy a warm blanket. But I’ve also used cotton and polyester sleeping bags and they can get the job done (cotton is best for warmer spring or summer nights).
The fleece is very warm if you don’t like wool.
However, fleece, unlike wool that breathes well and still keeps the baby warm when wet, can make the baby sweat and then cool down because the moisture remains on the baby. I suggest you try the wool,
As you mentioned, sleeping bags are sleeveless so you need to put something underneath. A long-sleeved cotton romper is what I usually wear, and sometimes on colder nights a long-sleeved jumpsuit underneath that. A romper that is a little loose is best to trap body heat.
It’s also a good idea to wear a pair of knee-length socks to keep your feet warm.
When we lose power and it drops below 60 degrees I would add a hat to the above. One that has a velcro chin strap is useful to hold once the baby is older and moving around a bit at night.
